Hey there, it’s Bruce Woodburn, with CrossCountry Mortgage and WDBO radio and it’s time for the three big things you need to know. Let’s get right down to business.
- Interest rates stabilized last week a little bit earlier this week. Then again on Thursday, we saw another calamity in the bond market, lost 65 basis points. So that didn’t turn out as well as we were hoping. We’re hoping we’re going to see a little bit of an additional stabilization, but the rates are going to continue to rise. Guys, let’s just face it, I’m not about giving you all the good news and no bad news. It is what it is. However, housing prices will continue to rise. On the other hand, let’s just be realistic, we’re seeing about a 25% decrease in home sales this March over last March. So that’s not, that’s not that surprising. And it doesn’t mean we’re heading for a recession because we’re oversold right now. There’s just too much going on in the real estate market and it’s time for a slight pullback so that’s fine. Just expect the interest rates to continue to climb.
- So that brings me into the second thing that you need to know, I’ve got a long term lock rate, I can lock you up to a year in advance. I’ve also got a cash offer program. So if you’re competing against cash offers, you get approved with me, I’ll offer cash on the property if you don’t close on time and I’ll close on the closing date on all conventional loans as long as you’re fully approved through my fast track loan program.
