3 Big Things: What are interest rates doing?, Price of homes is up and inventory is still low & Don’t forget to file for homestead exemption!

Hello there it is, January the 14th and we are already halfway through the first month of 2022. I’m glad to be finished with all of the festivities and get back to work. I’ve got some amazing stuff for you because it is time for the three big things you need to know.

  1. All right, so first big thing you need to know is what our interest rates doing. Well I can tell you this much Interest rates are rising. They’ve already risen by about a half a point from what they were about a month or a month and a half ago and they will probably go up another half a point. We lost 116 basis points in the bond market week before last alone and then it was rocky this week. And we’ve expected that this was going to happen. The Federal Reserve is planning to have at least three rate  hikes on the Fed rate. So that’s going to happen. They have to do that in order to slow down inflation and inflation has gotten out of control. I’m going to tell you something, I don’t know who you voted for for president, but this administration does not have the American’s best interest In line when it comes to inflation. And I’m gonna tell you something this is looking like a repeat of the Carter years and we certainly don’t want to see interest rates get up into 13-18% but they’re going to have to raise interest rates in order to curb inflation were now forced to do that.
  2. So you’re going to see interest rates rise, inflation costs more and price of houses are going to keep going up. There’s only about a 2-3 weeks supply of houses on the market right now.
  3. And the third thing you need to know is if you have not filed for a homestead exemption, do it right now. Here’s a couple of things, I’ll put a little bonus in there.

A lot of folks that are out there right now that might be listening to this video, might have bought a home last year, maybe new construction and now you’ve got a tax bill and your taxes went way up and your payment went up $300-$700 a month. If you don’t fix it now, it will be a perpetual problem. Call me, I can help you fix that problem.
